The Bot Oord Verkoopmaatschappij (NV Bovema) was a Dutch record company that was established in 1946 by Gerry Oord. The company initially acquired the exclusive Dutch distribution rights of "EMI" affiliated labels such as Columbia, His Masters Voice, and, later Capitol.

Since 1950 he headquarters of the company were located in the Villa Interlaken, which became known as Columbia House: It also functioned as a cultural center, with recitals taking place and a special department (in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Arts) focusing on the use of records in music education. In 1953, the company having grown and Columbia no longer the main label, the headquarters were rechristened Gramophone House.

Due to heavy restrictions on imports, in 1948 a pressing plant was built in Heemstede in 1948 with the help of Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. (EMI), simply called Nederlandse Gramofoonplatenfabriek. In 1959 the in house recording studio Bovema Studio is established.

In April 1967 Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. acquired a majority stake in the company. Due to changes in company law N.V. Bovema became B.V. Bovema in 1973. Gerry Oord would subsequently become managing director of EMI Records Ltd.
