Sony DADC, Terre Haute

0 releases

Sony DADC US manufacturing plant in Terre Haute, Indiana. Previously known as Sony DADC, officially became Sony DADC in August 2005. Blu-ray replication began at this plant in mid-2006.

Production of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs ended at Terre Haute by early 2018, all other remaining media by mid 2022. The plant still operates as an assembly and distribution facility for Sony.

Optical discs manufactured at this plant from 2005 to 2022 can be identified by:

Mastering SID Codes:
· IFPI L321 L322 L323 L324 L325 L326 L327 L328 L329
· IFPI L330 L331 L332 L333

Mould SID Codes:
CDs:
· IFPI 50**
DVDs/SACDs/Blu-rays:
· IFPI QW**

Note: Mould SID Code IFPI 5100 may appear on releases glass mastered at this plant following the closing of Sony Disc Manufacturing, Springfield in April, 2003. Since it has not been determined where these discs were pressed, a Pressed By credit cannot be assigned, nor can they be added as variants to releases where the pressing plant is known.
Example: [r25736077]

Matrices:
All matrices contain a Sony "DADC" manufacturing code (4-letter prefix followed by a hyphen and a 6 or 7-digit sequential number) and a glass master number (usually single digit, 1 indicating first master). Example CD matrix: DIDX-141156 2
Additional text may also appear in CD matrices (example [r594876]).

DVD/SACD/DualDisc/Blu-ray matrices include an additional code A1 attached to the DADC code. Example DVD matrix: DVSS-4092420A1 1
Dual layer discs contain 2 matrices, some with different DADC prefixes in inner and outer ring: Example Hybrid SACD matrix: SUHD-014650A1 1 STLD-014650 1
Blu-rays include B1 in inner ring. Example matrix: BVDL-059630A1 2 BVDL-059630B1 2

Optical discs pressed by Sony DADC, Terre Haute also include a pressing code in the matrix (letter and 2-digit number, A01 indicating first pressing, usually mirrored).

Several DADC prefixes were in use by this plant when it was renamed Sony DADC. The following list shows approximate sequential numbers for each prefix and format as of August 2005:
DIDP/DIBD/CTDP/CPTP/CPDP (CD, Sony labels) around 121000
DIDX/CPDX (CD, non-Sony labels) around 115000
CTDX/CPTX (CD, non-Sony labels) around 002000
DVSS/DVDS/DVDL (DVD) around 300000
SULD/SUHD/STLD (SACD) around 012000
AUHD/DDHD/DDLD (Hybrid DualDisc) around 001900
CDRM (CD-ROM)
PDSS (PlayStation 2 DVD-ROM)
SROM (Mini CD)

Additional matrix prefixes and formats were introduced by Sony DADC, Terre Haute after 2005:
AUDL (DVD Audio dual layer)
BASS/BVSS/BVDL (Blu-ray)
IDRM (CD, Sony Enhanced?)
USTL (Ultra-HD Blu-ray)

Please note that the same matrix patterns and SID codes were used by the predecessor Sony DADC before August 2005. This profile is intended for 2005 and later releases with sequential numbers higher than listed above. This entry may also be used for reissues with much lower numbers (e.g. DIDP-0xxxxx), but only if it can be determined that disc was made after the Sony DADC rebranding (2006 and later releases).

Please credit Sony DADC, Terre Haute with "Glass Mastered At" and Sony manufacturing code as Catalog Number in LCCN (example release [r8972198]). Dual layer matrices with identical prefix should only be entered once, without A1/B1 (example release [r2919684]).

Same CD manufacturing codes were also used by Sony DADC, Pitman, which can be identified by a different matrix pattern/SID codes. If mould SID IFPI 50** appears in conjunction with those, Sony DADC, Terre Haute should be credited with "Pressed By" in LCCN (example release [r10727739]). Such discs are usually represses.
