PC Wise

PC Wise was an optical disc manufacturer located in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. The company PC Wise Limited was incorporated on 25 January 1989 and entered administration in April 1998 before being acquired by TIB. The company focused on computer software disc replication but also producing audio CDs.

Identification:
PC Wise can be identified and credited with the Pressed By role in LCCN when it is named in the disc matrix. This is usually accompanied by a job number CDR0#### which can be entered in LCCN, and sometimes by a mould SID code IFPI 5H** (although more often there will not be a mould SID code, which PC Wise seems to have introduced sometime in 1997).

Glass masters:
PC Wise did not manufacture glass masters in-house, but ordered these from external companies. When the following mastering SID codes appear in the disc matrix, the glass master manufacturer may be identified according to instructions on their own label profile.
