First CD manufacturing facility established in the United States.

After incorporating Digital Audio Disc Corporation (Sony DADC) as a joint venture between Sony Corporation Of America and CBS Inc. on November 4th, 1983, production in the facility started on September 21st, 1984 with [r8491482]. In 1985 CBS Inc. sold their share in Sony DADC to Sony. After the purchase of CBS Records Inc. by Sony Corp. of America in 1988 CD production also started in the newly acquired and adapted sister plant in Pitman (the former Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman) which shut down again on March 31st, 2011. Sony DADC ceased CD production at Terre Haute in early 2018.

The facilities were formally owned by DADC (Digital Audio Disc Corporation) until 2004 when Sony Disc Manufacturing and Sony DADC unified worldwide production under the name Sony DADC, except in Japan where it remained Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc.
