In 1931 Columbia Graphophone Company Ltd. merged with The Gramophone Co. Ltd. to become Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. Svenska AB. The company remained as an EMI subsidiary until it was absorbed into The Gramophone Co. Ltd. in June 1965.
