N.V. Negram

0 releases

Dutch record company behind the Negram imprint (label).

The roots of the company began as Nemerco, established in 1953 by Gerry Oord (owner of N.V. Bovema) to initially release pop repertoire using a different selling method to sister company, in 1960 Nemerco acquires the shares in one of the oldest Dutch record company's N.V. Nederlandsche Gramofoon Maatschappij, based in The Hague (The Dutch affiliate of The Gramophone Co. Ltd., England.). This company became N.V. Negram in 1963 with Robert Oeges becoming managing director.

In 1965, R. Oeges acquired the exclusive rights for Netherlands of the Warner Bros. label (formerly Bovema) & Reprise, and as of at least 1966 the company had a license contract with Scepter Records / Sawandi Music

Gerry Oord subsquently acquired N.V. Delta (Delta) established by Hans Kellerman in 1961, merging it with N.V. Negram to form N.V. Negram-Delta in 1965, with Hans Kellerman becoming managing director.

N.V. Negram - may also appear as Negram N.V. - was used throughout the 60s until the early 70s, then the name of the company was later changed to Negram B.V.
In circa 1978 Negram B.V. merged into Bovema Negram B.V.
