Built in the 1920s, the building was originally home to Liberty Records, Inc. After Transamerica Corporation acquired Liberty, the label relocated, and the studio became known as I.D. Sound Recorders. Artists known to have recorded here include The Beach Boys, Todd Rundgren, [a228858], and Canned Heat, among others.
In 1978 the studio became Rusk Sound Studios.
