In October 2024, the band sold their recorded music catalogue and merchandising rights to Sony Music for approximately 400 million USD. The sale was made through the acquisition of Pink Floyd Music Ltd. by SME Two Limited (company number 15915200), a company estabilished specifically for this transaction; Sony Music Entertainment intermediately owns this company through SME-Two LLC, another special purpose company incorporated in Delaware (Sony Group Corporation, Sony Music's ultimate parent, is listed as having significant control with the notification date of 30 September). Changes on the company's ownership were recorded in the Companies House on 14 October. The deal resulted in termination of the partnership with Warner Music Group (through Parlophone Records Ltd.) under which Warner distributed Pink Floyd catalogues in Europe (Sony distributed Pink Floyd's output in most of the world since 2016 while Warner distributed globally between 2013 and 2016). Starting 2025, Sony Music globally distributes the entire Pink Floyd recordings catalogue.
