Recording studio in Hollywood, California, USA. For the studios in Tucson, AZ, see [l315297].

In late 1968 International Management Combine (operated by Lennie Poncher and Bill Loeb) bought R. J. Recorders and renamed it The Sound Factory. New custom equipment, including a portable 16-track console, was designed by Bill Parr. A second studio in West Hollywood called The Sound Factory West was opened soon thereafter. In May 1969 Dave Hassinger, former RCA staff engineer and Warner/Reprise staff producer, bought both studios. He eventually converted the restaurant next to the original Selma Avenue facility into a new studio, tech shop, and disc mastering room and closed Sound Factory West. Hassinger closed The Sound Factory in 1980, selling it to Paul & Tutti Camarata, owners of Sunset Sound Recorders, who renovated and reopened it in 1982. In 2017, the studio was sold again; it continues to operate under new ownership.

Known engineers: Val Garay, Jason Mott, Bill Parr, John Paterno, Greg Ladanyi, Dennis Kirk, Mark Howlett
