Recording studio in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California (USA), founded and owned by Allen Zentz.
Zentz had operated a mastering studio, Allen Zentz Mastering in Hollywood since late 1973. In June 1978 this 32-track recording studio was opened on an adjacent lot that previously belonged to RCA Records Pressing Plant, Hollywood, allowing clients to do entire projects at the complex. The first album recorded here was Michael Jackson's 435524.
Coinciding with the opening of the recording studio, the mastering studio was refurbished and the company Allen Zentz Recording, Inc. (registered in Encino) was founded.
In December 1983 the studio was renamed to Image Recording Studios after being purchased by the engineers Harry Maslin and John Van Nest.
