The company was established as the jacket production and plate-making division of the Sony Music Group.
In 2019, Sony Music Communications Inc. will be the surviving company, merging and integrating Sony DADC Japan and Jarede (Distribution companies under [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/32822]SMEJ[/url]) on April 1. In addition, Sony Music Distribution (Japan) Inc. (currently Sony Music Marketing United) will absorb and take over a part of the Marketing Group, the Market Promote Group and the business conducted by the Internet Business Group on April 1.
In line with this reorganization, the company changed its name to Sony Music Solutions Inc.

Optical discs by Sony Music Solutions Inc. can be identified by mastering SID codes IFPI L27* and L280, usually in conjunction with mould SID codes IFPI 45**. Matrices contain either a label catalog number or a plant job number/sequential code, and a single digit master number. All discs with the above mastering SID codes manufactured after April 2019 may be credited on the LCCN as “Glass Mastered At”.
Please be aware that above SID codes and matrix patterns were also used by predecessor Sony Music Manufacturing Inc. and Sony DADC Japan.
