Canadian record company established in February 1970 to distribute releases from the American label [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/A&M+Records] A&M Records[/url] in Canada (until 1970, distribution of A&M titles in Canada was handled by Quality Records Limited), and to sign and develop a roster of Canadian talent. Gerry LaCoursiere was the President for the company's entire existence.
In 1989, when PolyGram purchased the American parent label, A&M Records of Canada was also purchased by the Canadian division of PolyGram. In 1998 PolyGram merged with Universal Music Group, and today A&M is only an imprint label of the multi-national Universal Music Group.
