Established on April 1st, 1969 by Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. (EMI), to take over the activities formerly carried out by its Norwegian licensee Carl M. Iversen A/S.
From 1978 onwards the company formed part of the EMI Music division. In January 2002 EMI Norsk AS changed name to EMI Music Norway AS and would operate under this name until July 1st, 2013, after which the company became a subsidiary of Warner Music Group, Inc and changed its name to Parlophone Music Norway AS.
