Bobby Gillespie

Vocalist, lyricist and bassist born on the 22nd of June 1962 and grew up in Springburn (Scotland, UK). In 1973 his family moved to Mt. Florida (Scotland, UK). His first instrument was the bass guitar, but later he concentrated on his voice. Besides singing and playing bass, he's also able to play guitar, drums and several other instruments.
In 1982 he joined The Wake as bassist, a rock band from Glasgow (Scotland, UK). In August 1983 he left the band.
In 1984 he joined The Jesus & Mary Chain as a drummer, a post-punk, shoegaze band from Scotland. A few years later he left the band to concentrate on his indie rock band Primal Scream which he founded in the mid 80s.
