The Weather Girls

As back-up singers for disco queen R. Kelly, Izora Armstead and Martha Wash recorded under the name Two Tons O' Fun. They soon embarked on their own career as recording artists, and after recording what would be their biggest hit, "It's Raining Men", the girls rechristened themselves The Weather Girls. They remained active until 1988, when they went their separate ways.

In 1991, Armstead reformed the Weather Girls name, inviting her daughter Dynelle Rhodes to replace Martha. They recorded a few albums and singles together and toured throughout the 1990's. In 2004, Izora grew ill and ultimately passed away in September 2004. In 2005, Dynelle added Ingrid Arthur to the lineup and they released two albums called Totally Wild (2005) and The Woman I Am (2009). In mid-2012, Arthur left the duo and was replaced by Dorrey Lin Lyles.
