Real Name: Clarence Eugene Redd III

Gene Redd Jr. is a US former doo-wop singer-songwriter-producer-pianist active in New York, NY, who eventually became the manager/producer for Kool & The Gang. He also produced the group BMP. Brother of Sharon Redd and son of Gene Redd. Joined the Fi-Tones in 1954 after being a member of The Five Chimes. Often associated with the publisher Staccato Music and Stephanye Music named after his daughter. Owner of the labels Stephanye Records, Red Coach Records and Reddline Records. Worked with Cecil Holmes & Ronald Moseley (R. M. H. Productions). Became A&R producer for Musicor Records, Inc. in 1966.
