Real Name: Jason Smith
Phil The Agony, also known as Phil Da Agony, (born Jason Smith) is a West Coast hip hop artist who is a member of the hip hop collectives, Barbershop MC's, Strong Arm Steady and Likwit Crew. He is a well respected underground rapper who has collaborated artists as diverse Talib Kweli, Swollen Members and Dilated Peoples. He made his debut appearance in 1995 on a song named "Net Weight" on an Immortal Records compilation named The Next Chapter. He also appeared on Tash's 1999 album Rap Life, on a track called "True Homies" with Xzibit. He has only released one solo album, Aromatic, a 2004 release. He is known for his keen freestyle ability and even has his own solo freestyle track on Dilated Peoples' Expansion Team.
