Real Name: Derek W Sticklen

UK mastering / cutting engineer and later chief mastering engineer at Pye Studios between 1964 and 1975.

Pye record cuts by him can be identified by △S, ♢S, ✳S (1964 - 1968) and △W and ♢W (1968 - 1974).
The symbols identify the cutting suites:
The diamond: until 1974 identifying the Westrex/Scully lathe and from 1974 onwards identifying the Neumann SX74 lathe.
The triangle: until 1968 identifying the Westrex/Scully lathe and from 1968 onwards identifying the Neumann SX68 lathe.
The star: identifying the Westrex/Scully mono lathe, operative until ca. 1974.

After leaving Pye in 1975, he worked as technical manager for a tape duplicating firm in Dublin (Ireland) owned by Carlton Productions and Release Records, as technical manager for Battery Studios, London, as well as for Aerco Productions, Utopia Studios, and FWO Bauch (studio gear company).
