Artur Rodzinski

Polish-born conductor, born January 1, 1892, in Spalato, Dalmatia, Austria- Hungary (now Split, Croatia), where his father was serving as a general in the army. He grew up in Lemberg, Galicia (now Lviv, Ukraine). He died in Boston, Massachusetts on November 27, 1958. Father of [a3682781], past artistic director of the [l1044867] and the [a837548].

Second music director of The Cleveland Orchestra from 1933 to 1943, succeeding [a1689097].
