Real Name: Biréli Lagrène

French jazz musician, guitar player and composer of Sinti origin, born September 4, 1966 in Saverne, France.
A "guitar phenomenon", according to John McLaughlin, he came to prominence in the 1980s via his manouche (Django-like) style. After collaborations with his musical patron Jan Jankeje, he has cooperated from the early 1980s on - at a very young age and still being considered a child prodigy - with famous jazz artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Benny Carter and Benny Goodman.
