Michel Spiegel

Michel Spiegel

Real Name: Michel Spiegel

Michel Spiegel was born in Germany, but spending nine years in London as a dedicated goth-rocker turned him on to new music. After buying the requisite electronics gear, Spiegel began recording hardcore techno as Nüw Idol, and eventually found a home on the Plink Plonk subsidiary Electro Audio Response. His debut single "Wu-Maze" appeared in 1994. Subsequent singles like 1996's The Beast and The Ceremony and 1998's Blue Butterfly/Ikon and Hard Drive/Fast and Wide appeared on imprints like Cosmic, Aquarius and Zoom. Spiegel also acted as an engineer, producer and remixer for artists such as DJ Sneak, Binary Finary, the Shamen, Mr. C, Ian Pooley and Kenny Larkin. In 1999, Spiegel formed his own label, Well Wicked, on which he released the single Polly's Pharmacy.
