Lawrence Horn
Real Name: Lawrence Thomas Horn
American musician, songwriter, producer and engineer, born,18 Apr 1940, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA, Died,11 Feb 2017 (aged 76), Maryland, USA. Formerly a producer and chief recording engineer for Motown Records, he was notable for pioneering many mixing techniques while at Motown, and for directly supervising most of the mixes for Motown singles from 1964 to 1967. He left Motown in 1968 to join fellow Motown departures Holland-Dozier-Holland at their HDH Sound Studios but returned to Motown in 1975 where he remained until 1990. He died in prison while serving a life sentence for hiring a hit man to commit a triple-murder in 1993.
