Malcolm Davies

British mastering and lacquer cutting engineer, notably for mastering many of The Beatles' original releases.

He started cutting at EMI Studios 301 in 1958, where we worked for 10 years. He subsequently moved on to Apple Studios, where he worked for seven years.
He has worked at Pye Studios (later PRT Studios) since 1967.
He died in 2015.

At Pye, his cuts can be recognized by △M, ♢M, ✳M in the runouts (attention: until 1966 these symbols were used by Derek Moore).
In later years, he used the initials MD.
