Real Name: James Gene Barge

US songwriter, producer, tenor and alto saxophonist, (born August 9, 1926 in Norfolk, Virginia - died February 2, 2025, in Bronzeville, Chicago)
He moved to Chicago in the 1960s to become a staff musician and producer with Chess Records. In addition to touring with the Rolling Stones, Gene Barge also took to the road with Fats Domino, Bo Diddley and his good friend, Buddy Guy.
Often collaborated with Frank Guida and Joseph Royster.
