He was responsible for discovering Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Robert "P-Nut" Johnson, Bessie Smith, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Pete Seeger, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
Inducted into Rock'N'Roll Hall Of Fame (Lifetime Achievement) in 1986.
