John G. Deacon

British producer and executive. Born 29 October 1940.
He started his career in May 1960 at The Gramophone Co. Ltd. at Hayes, England, UK. From thence he was transferred to Les Industries Musicales Et Electriques Pathé Marconi (1964-7) and then to S.A. Gramophone N.V. (1967-9). From 1969 to 1971, he was Managing Director at [l956447]. Between 1971/2 and 1980, he worked at Columbia Graphophone Company Of Greece Limited/Columbia-EMI Greece S.A. as sales director, especially charged with the responsibility of bringing all EMI's Arab music producers under the wing of that company. In 1977, he founded Conifer; he left the company in 1985. Between 1989 and 1995, he was appointed at [l89214], with the responsibility for their home video programmes. From 1995 to 1999, he was Consultant of Arab Music at EMI Music Arabia in Dubai (Jebel Ali Freezone).
