Real Name: Joseph Tarsia

American recording engineer.
Father of Michael Tarsia.
After eight years as a Lab Tech in the Research department at the Philco-Ford Corporation in 1960 Joe started working nights at AMS, a small studio in South Philadelphia.
In 1962 Joe left Philco and AMS to take a full-time engineer position at Cameo Parkway Records.
Eventually Cameo was sold, & with this change, Joe decided to move things forward...

In 1968 he designed & built the now legendary Sigma Sound Studios.
From that moment forward, Tarsia, Sigma, Gamble & Huff, The Salsoul Orchestra, & MFSB would be the major architects & contributors to the Sonic Aesthetic of the "Philly Sound".
In 1977 open Sigma Sound Studios, New York. In 2003 Tarsia sold both the studios.
He was a founding member and first president of The Society of Professional Recording Studios (SPARS) and Chairman of the Board of The Philadelphia Music Alliance (PMA).
