Tina Charles
Real Name: Tina Hoskins
UK disco singer best known for her 1976 #1 solo hits 188742 and 188740 (b. 10.03.1954, Whitechapel, London).
Recorded a number of singles in 1969 backed by then unknown Elton John. In the very early 70's she was in the female pop trio Wild Honey (11) as well as recorded a large number of anonymous lead vocals for the Top Of The Pops series. Her breakthrough came with Airbus (3) / 5000 Volts and the 1975 disco hit 113446 followed shortly after by her solo successes.
Her session work also includes backing Elton John and Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, a.o. on the hit 86326.
Her chosen stage name of Charles was a tribute to her father, Charles Hoskins.
