The name of the label was inspired by what was thought to be the Carl Craig track Evolution on his BFC EP on Fragile Records. (It was actually the song Galaxy that was the song that really did it, but confusion over the tracklisting on the label of the record led Mark and Tom to believe for years that the track was called Evolution...
