Recording arm of filmmakers Avco Embassy Pictures Corp., launched in 1969 as Avco Embassy. The name was shortened to Avco in October, 1971. Artists, producers, songwriters and A&R men Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore, better known as were tapped by Avco Embassy Pictures President Joseph E. Levine as the label's Vice Presidents and CFOs upon startup in 1969. The label's biggest group was The Stylistics, who charted over a dozen hits.
