[a=Prince]'s first own record label created in 1985 with partial funding by Warner Bros., named after the song from [m=16079]. Initially a Warner imprint, but became a 50/50 joint venture in 1986 or 1987. When Warner shuttered Paisley Park's distribution deal in 1994, Prince founded [l=NPG Records] in February 1994.
