Paramount Records was a movie soundtrack and pop music label created in January 1969 by conglomerate Gulf+Western Industries, which had purchased Paramount Pictures in 1968. Pop reissues from the Dot Records back catalog, a label that Paramount had owned since 1957, also appeared on this label.
