Matsushita Media Manufacturing was a CD-R and DVD manufacturing plant located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, opened in April 1994 by Eastman Kodak Co. as Grupo Kodak de Mexico. In December 1999, Eastman Kodak Company went into a joint venture with Panasonic Disc Services Corporation (PDSC), a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Ind. Co., Ltd., to establish Matsushita Media Manufacturing LLC of America, a company that aimed to increase DVD and other optical disc manufacturing capabilities available to both Eastman Kodak and Panasonic, including at Eastman Kodak's plant in Guadalajara. The plant then came under the name Matsushita Media Manufacturing.
In late 2001, Eastman Kodak decided to cease CD-R manufacturing operations, and sold its 49% share of Matsushita Media Manufacturing LLC to PDSC. Matsushita Electric sold PDSC to Technicolor in the first half of 2002, after which the Guadalajara plant continued operations as Technicolor, Guadalajara, Mexico.
Matsushita Media Manufacturing, Guadalajara, Mexico can be identified by 'MMM-M' in the disc matrix, often in combination with 'MADE IN MEXICO' and mould SID code IFPI KK**. Do not credit this manufacturer on releases made after 2002 based on IFPI KK** when 'MMM' is not present in the matrix.
