Chicago, Illinois label associated with records issued by the subsidiary of Chess. Originally named Argo (6), the label's name was changed to Cadet in 1965 to avoid confusion with the British label Argo (2). In the 1970s the label declined and was acquired in 1975 by the All Platinum Record Group, which became Sugar Hill Records Ltd. in 1979.
