Transparent Music is a new and independant multimedia music company dedicated to developing artist and events that make musical categories, if not obsolete, then certainly "transparent." We launched our record label in June 2000 with the double-guitar, jazz/R&B project Soul Conversation featuring Mark Whitfield and JK; and Like a Brother, a very special collaboration among Gerry Beckley (America), Robert Lamm (Chicago), and the late Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys. This was Carl's last album project before his tragic death from cancer in 1998. Transparent Music is a company with a sophisticated yet accessible vibe.

Transparent Records is Herbie Hancock, legendary music exploer, Chuck Mitchell, former President of Verve Records, David Passick, artist manager, producer, and head of David Passick entertainment. Transparent is creating musical content for CDs, television and the internet in a way that will use each medium to complement - not compete with each other. Our creative direction is fresh, diverse and in the pocket. It isn't limited to one or two categories but designed for an audience that's looking for something different than a standard major label.
