Branch of Carl Lindström A.-G., created as an expansion of the Parlophone label, whose records were originally pressed in London by The Parlophone Co. Ltd.. Soon after its creation, Lindstrom and its subsidiaries were acquired by Columbia Graphophone Company Ltd..

In 1931 Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. (EMI) was formed through the merger of Columbia Graphophone Company Ltd. and The Gramophone Co. Ltd.. Following the merger the operations of Parlophone Co. Ltd., Columbia Graphophone (Aust.) Ltd. and The Gramophone Co. Ltd. were brought together under one administrative control with the record production operations of the three companies being centralised at "Columbia's" Homebush factory.
