Blanco y Negro Music was born in 1978 as a record store in the city of Barcelona. The record company was founded on 17 January of 1983 by the brothers Jaime, Félix and Luis Buget. Only [a179970] continued the business till today, making of this independent company the longest-standing in the country, at least in their music style.
The first label logo says "Blanco Y Negro Music" in red. In 1984 it changed to black and white colour and was kept unchanged until late 1998, when logo just say "Blanco Y Negro" also in black and white.
Blanco y Negro Music has created more than 30 sublabels which are divided in general by musical styles, such as pop or new age, although most are from subgenres of EDM, such as hardcore, gabber, mákina, techno or house.
