Korova
'Korova' (Russian for 'Cow') is a reference to the Korova Milk Bar in Stanley Kubrick's film of Anthony Burgess' novel A Clockwork Orange.
The imprint was founded by Rob Dickins in 1979 as an outlet for Echo & The Bunnymen. The label was active throughout the 1980s and also released records from other bands such as The Sound but also the UK releases by The Residents and a few others.
Mainly distributed by the Warner Elektra Asylum group of record companies.
Former labelcode: LC 7259
The label was reactivated by WEA International Inc. in 2003 to issue the 25th anniversary remastered editions of Echo & The Bunnymen's first six LPs but also signed bands such Cosmic Rough Riders, The Storys and The Sounds.
Korova collapsed in 2007.
