Erdenklang
German label, pioneered in 80s hi-tech-electronica; previously owned by [l9393].
[b]Label Code: LC 8155 / LC 08155[/b]
Erdenklang and its publishing company [l274348] (sometimes credited as [l115413]) were founded by [a319696] in Hamburg in October 1981. The remarkable technological development of music computers during the 70s and 80s (Fairlight) instigated exciting new ways of sound design and computer aesthetics, and computer-acoustic music became Erdenklang's philosophy.
In an attempt to widen the musical spectrum and to move past the little innovative purely electronic styles Rützel launched his sub-label [l=Cross Culture] in 1989 with emphasis on more global/world music fusion styles. However, Cross Culture soon became rather an Edition on Erdenklang than being a separate label, similar to the Silent Beauty Edition. Silent Beauty, launched at around the same time, specialized more on New Age releases "guided by poetry and beauty". Rützel founded [l=CCn'C Records] (short for CrossCulture and Contemporary Music) in 1998 as successor of Erdenklang. After severe illness he sold all labels and his publishing company in 2005 to [l9393].
